Nanu Oya is a very small village in the Nuwara Eliya district named after the Nanu Oya River and it is approximately 85 Kms away from Kandy city and is situated at an elevation of 1613 meters (5376 feet) above sea level.
Nanuoya is famous for its railway station of Sri Lanka's railway Hill Country main line and it is the closest railway station to the Nuwara Eliya. During the train journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya visitors disembark from Nanu Oya railway station. Distance from Naanu Oya to Nuwara Eliya town is 10 kms.
